Admit it, you don't watch How I Met Your Mother for Ted's saccharine search for love: you dig it because of Neil Patrick Harris. Oh, and I guess the others aren't so bad either. It's not like we have an emotional attachment to the characters or anything . . . sniff! It's almost over!
But we can hold off on mourning. Recently, on Inside the Actor's Studio, a fan asked Neil Patrick Harris (Barney) and Jason Segel (Marshall) to sing "Confrontation" from the Les Miserables musical. With NPH as Javert and Segel as Jean Valjean (the John McJohson of the French), the duo gorgeously wrecks havoc on tradition and vocal cords.
Though this isn't the first time they've done it, the post-finale passion in their voices amplifies the awesomeness. Perhaps most telling is Alyson Hannigan (Lily. Or, Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and her little comment, dripping with salty sarcasm:
"Oh, we haven't heard that in a long time."
Working with these guys must be the best. thing. ever.
See for yourself. And prepare to quit your job to pursue a career as NPH-Segel groupie.
